Man arrested in deputy’s shooting
A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of shooting a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy in the face late Friday night.
Javier Trani of Desert Hot Springs was apprehended at 5:15 a.m. in the 15000 block of Avenida Ramada, Deputy Craig Roberts said. Trani allegedly shot the deputy during a routine traffic stop near that location shortly before 10 p.m. Friday.
The deputy, whose identity had not been released, was in stable condition, Roberts said.
