Academy Awards in blue and red

OK, editors, confession time! You made up this person “Nancy Gee,” right [“Feedback,” Dec. 21]? I’m referring to the one who cannot bring herself to watch the “anti-American, Bush-hating” Oscar show this year. Obviously, the letter you printed above her signature was something you designed for your readers as a diversion from all the grim economic news. Or, if one of your own Christmas elves was not responsible, maybe it was Karl Rove or Dick Cheney having a little fun for a change, instead of simply spewing their usual hatred.

Truly, the nonsense expressed in the letter is not worthy of a response from any of us “moonbats” or “libtards,” whatever the heck that means. Let me just make one point: The traitorous Hollywood “dreck” referred to by this individual can’t begin to compare to the traitorous Republican dreck of Bush/Cheney/Rove and cronies, who have brought this country to economic ruin, and -- much worse -- deliberately lied us into a war resulting in the deaths and injury of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens. And if “Nancy Gee” finds that statement “anti-American,” she doesn’t know the meaning of the word, which wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Just wanted to thank Nancy Gee for her on-the-nose accuracy of why she won’t be watching the Academy Awards.

I’m sure she spoke for many of us who feel the same way about the cheap shot liberal bias shown on the Academy Awards show.
