Northridge maintains grip on first place in Big West

Tremaine Townsend led Cal State Northridge with 18 points and 14 rebounds Wednesday night, and the Matadors held on for an 82-78 victory over Long Beach State in a Big West Conference game at Long Beach.
The win keeps Northridge (18-6, 10-2 Big West) in sole possession of first place in the conference.
Donovan Morris led the 49ers with 23 points.
UC Santa Barbara 60, Pacific 53 -- Alex Harris scored a game-high 17 points, and the Gauchos cruised to victory at Stockton.
Harris scored twice on driving layups to give Santa Barbara (20-6, 9-4 Big West) its biggest lead at 19 points early in the second half. The Gauchos’ lead never fell below 13 points again until the game’s final minute. Santa Barbara forced 18 turnovers and limited Pacific (17-9, 8-5) to 42% shooting.
UC Riverside 85, UC Irvine 76 -- Larry Cunningham scored 21 points and the Highlanders outlasted the Anteaters at Riverside.
Riverside (6-17, 3-9 Big West) shot 58% from the field.
Brett Lauer had 25 points for the Anteaters (11-14, 6-6).
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 66, UC Davis 58 -- Lorenzo Keeler had 16 points, three rebounds and three assists in the Mustangs’ victory at Davis. Trae Clark added 15 points and six rebounds for Cal Poly (10-14, 5-7 Big West).
Dominic Calegari had 18 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots for the Aggies (8-18, 2-11 Big West).
