Portland (6-10, 1-0) at Loyola Marymount (3-14, 0-1), 8, ESPNU -- The Lions lead the series against the Pilots, 44-35, including 22-11 at Gersten Pavilion, where they are 0-7 this season. Portland improved to 2-6 on the road by defeating Pepperdine, 82-78, Saturday night. The Pilots’ point total was a season high. Loyola, beaten by Gonzaga, 91-68, in its conference opener, has lost seven in a row. The Pilots’ roster features 10 underclassmen (six freshmen), one senior and two juniors.

Gonzaga (12-4, 1-0) at Pepperdine (6-11, 0-1), 9, ESPN -- The Bulldogs, picked to win their eighth consecutive conference title, won their conference opener for the 12th season in a row. They will try for a 2-0 start for the 11th time in the last 12 seasons. Gonzaga, which has a 12-game winning streak against the Waves, is 26-5 against them over the last 14 seasons. Pepperdine’s last win was 88-79 on Jan. 18, 2002, at Firestone Fieldhouse. The Waves, who are 2-2 at home, have lost seven of their last eight against Division I teams. The Bulldogs extended their streak of consecutive games with a three-point basket to 476 by making six against the Lions.
