* Pittsburgh 8, at Houston 2: Paul Maholm shut down the Astros for eight innings, and Freddy Sanchez homered for the second straight game.
* Milwaukee 4, at St. Louis 3: Bill Hall homered in the eighth to break a 3-3 tie and the Brewers won their sixth in a row. Before the game, the Cardinals put Chris Duncan on the 15-day disabled list.
* at Florida 4, Atlanta 3: Rick VandenHurk and three relievers combined on a one-hitter and Mike Jacobs hit a three-run homer for the Marlins.
* at Arizona 9, Chicago 2: Conor Jackson drove in three runs with a solo homer and two-run double.
* at San Francisco 6, Washington 3: Bengie Molina hit a two-run homer and a solo shot, and Barry Zito won his second straight decision. Before the game, the Giants activated outfielder Dave Roberts from the disabled list.
* Philadelphia 8, at New York 6: So Taguchi and Jimmy Rollins had two-run doubles in a six-run ninth.
