Teen accused of killing cousin, 8
Los Angeles County prosecutors charged a 13-year-old boy Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of his 8-year-old cousin last week outside her South Los Angeles apartment building.
Jasmine Sanders was killed July 23 as she played with her brother and other children outside her home at East 76th and South San Pedro streets, said Los Angeles County district attorney’s spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.
Jasmine’s cousin, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, was charged with murder and attempted murder. Authorities said the shooting was gang-related and that another person was the intended target.
