Teacher denies 9 new charges
A middle school teacher arrested last month on suspicion of molesting students pleaded not guilty Friday to nine new charges involving the alleged abuse of three additional girls, all under the age of 14.
Thomas Arthur Beltran, 60, was arraigned before Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz on the new charges, which stem from incidents alleged to have occurred between September 2000 and June 2004, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
