Driver killed in two-pickup crash
A Long Beach man was killed early Friday when the pickup he was driving hit another truck on California 138 east of Gorman, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Shortly after midnight, Erik Galdamez, 29, was eastbound on the highway west of 300th Street West when he went into the westbound lane to pass a big rig, authorities said. The driver of an oncoming pickup began to brake and move to the right to avoid a collision, but Galdamez did not move out of the way, according to the report. The driver of the other pickup and his two passengers were not injured and were not arrested or cited.
CHP officers said Galdamez may have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
