Tagger shot to death near river
A man was shot to death Thursday afternoon in an apparent gang-related attack while painting graffiti on a Los Angeles River bike path, sheriff’s officials said.
The man and two other males were tagging the path about 1:40 p.m. when the shooter approached and began firing, said Sheriff’s Deputy Johnie Jones. The shooting occurred in the 5300 block of Live Oak Street.
The wounded man was declared dead at a hospital, Jones said. The other taggers were not hit.
No names, ages or other details were immediately available.
