College football will have a new No. 1 team and the Heisman Trophy race might have a new leader, both turning on the 28-yard touchdown pass thrown by Graham Harrell with one second left that enabled Texas Tech to upset Texas, 39-33. But don’t look back -- a Gator has rejoined the hunt.

COLT McCOY, junior quarterback, Texas: McCoy rallied Texas from deficits of 19-0 and 29-13 against Texas Tech, but the game was out of his control in the final minutes. Stats: 20 for 34 for 294 yards passing and two touchdowns with one interception; 13 carries for 16 yards.

GRAHAM HARRELL, senior quarterback, Texas Tech: He connected with Michael Crabtree with his team’s game and season on the line -- and systematically picked apart the Texas defense the rest of the game too. Stats: 36 for 53 for 474 yards passing and two touchdowns.

SAM BRADFORD, sophomore quarterback, Oklahoma: Two standards have become standard practice for Bradford. He has passed for at least 300 yards seven times this season and he has six career five-touchdown games. Stats: 19 for 27 for 311 yards and five touchdowns with one interception.

TIM TEBOW, junior quarterback, Florida: You think Emmitt Smith thought his Gators record for career rushing touchdowns would be broken . . . by a quarterback? Tebow has 39, Smith 36. Stats: 10 for 13 for 154 yards passing and two touchdowns; 12 carries for 39 yards and three TDs.

CHASE DANIEL, senior quarterback, Missouri: Daniel had touchdown passes on the Tigers’ first two possessions, but then he had a pass intercepted in the end zone and what looked like a possible rout over Baylor ended up a nail-biting victory. Stats: 30 for 38 for 318 yards passing and three touchdowns with two interceptions.

DARYLL CLARK, junior quarterback, Penn State: Idle.

DEZ BRYANT, sophomore receiver, Oklahoma State: Fellow Cowboys receiver Jeremy Broadway said this of Bryant: “When the ball is in the air and Dez is one on one, it’s automatic.” It certainly was Saturday. Bryant had four touchdown catches -- giving him 15 this season -- in a rout of Iowa State. Stats: nine catches for 171 yards, including scoring receptions of 11, 26, 80 and one yards.
