FANTASY FORECAST

There might not be an NFL team that plays locally, but let’s face it, thousands of us have fantasy league rosters that we draft and manage. Each week, Times NFL writer Sam Farmer will offer a few tips to the wise:

*--* PLAY HIM Eli Manning People have started asking the (legitimate) question of who’s better, Peyton or Eli? QB, New York Giants Adrian Peterson He’s coming off a down game at New Orleans, and should bounce back strong against a weak RB, Minnesota Detroit defense. Larry Fitzgerald The Dallas secondary is suspect, and the Cowboys-Cardinals game figures to be a shootout. WR, Arizona GIVE HIM A CHANCE Laveranues Coles The last time he played, he caught three touchdown passes. He could pull off an encore against the WR, New York Jets Bengals. Julius Jones With Matt Hasselbeck and his receivers hurting, the Seahawks are thinking ball-control offense RB, Seattle against the Packers, who haven’t stopped the run. Jay Cutler It will be hard for the Broncos to run on the Jaguars, but passing on them shouldn’t be a problem. QB, Denver BENCH HIM Joseph Addai No one runs on Baltimore, and certainly not the Colts, who, statistics indicate, have the league’s RB, Indianapolis worst running game. Matt Ryan He has looked great at times, and he’s a recent hot commodity in many leagues. But don’t go with QB, Atlanta him against Chicago. Braylon Edwards Although Edwards is a fine receiver, his quarterback simply won’t have the time to get him the ball WR, Cleveland much. *--*
