Rangers rough up Cliff Lee, Indians
at Texas 9, Cleveland 1: The Rangers got to left-hander Cliff Lee, the American League Cy Young Award winner last season, for seven runs and 10 hits in five innings, including Hank Blalock’s three-run home run.
at Toronto 12, Detroit 5: Adam Lind hit a home run and drove in six runs and Roy Halladay pitched seven innings to pick up the victory. Lind had four hits and set a team record for runs batted in during an opener.
Seattle 6, at Minnesota 1: Ken Griffey Jr. got off to a great second start with Seattle, hitting a home run to back Felix Hernandez, who went eight innings.
Kansas City at Chicago, ppd: Bad weather forced the game to be postponed until today.
Tampa Bay at Boston, ppd: The game was called off because of bad weather and rescheduled for today.
at Angels 3, Oakland 0: Howie Kendrick homered and had a run-scoring single.
