LaRoche brothers help finish sweep
Adam LaRoche had four hits and brother Andy LaRoche drove in two runs to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 7-4 victory over the Florida Marlins on Wednesday and complete a three-game sweep.
Florida began the series with an 11-1 record, a seven-game winning streak and a 6-0 road record but was outscored, 18-6, and swept in a three-game series by Pittsburgh for the first time since May 30-June 1, 2005.
Adam LaRoche, enjoying the best April of his career, helped the Pirates finish a homestand with a 6-3 record. He was four for five with three doubles to raise his average to .304, which is .125 higher than his .179 career average in April before this season -- the third-lowest in National League history.
