Sam Farmer’s Monday NFL film review

A common postgame response to questions after NFL games is, “I have to wait to see the film.” Times NFL writer Sam Farmer sorts through the best of Monday’s film review:

“Doesn’t everybody want to be a part of history? Not a season goes by that you don’t hear about the ’72 Dolphins. I guess there’s a bigger picture.”

“At the airport in ind headn to philly and everyones lookn at me like I’m the one that put peyton on the bench! Hahaha damn!”

Jeff Fisher, Tennessee coach:

“I think everybody really had the sense that if they played their players they would win the next two games. They didn’t. But I think we have to wait and see and then go back and ask yourself that question. Just wait and see what happens in the playoffs.”

Don Shula, coach of the ’72 Dolphins, the only NFL team to win every game:

“Peyton Manning proved once again this season why he is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL and it was certainly no surprise to see him lead the Colts to an NFL-record 23 straight victories.”

“Obviously, I would have loved to have seen them win that game. But for us it really doesn’t matter. We have to worry about taking care of our business. . . . They’ve got to do what they think they got to do. But we’ve got to worry about ourselves.”
