Phoenix 103, at Washington 87: Shaquille O’Neal had no problem with back-to-back games at the end of a trip, scoring 29 points as the Suns beat the Wizards to finish 3-3 on their Eastern swing. One night after scoring 19 points in 39 minutes in a victory at Atlanta, O’Neal shot 10 for 14 from the field and nine for 10 from the free-throw line, and had eight rebounds in 36 minutes for the Suns. The Wizards lost for the 10th time in 12 games.

at Miami 95, Atlanta 79: Dwyane Wade finished with 35 points and the Heat held the Hawks without a field goal for nearly 13 1/2 minutes during one first-half stretch. Atlanta set a franchise futility record with its 27-point first half but still managed to get to within seven points early in the fourth quarter before a quick 11-3 burst secured the win for Miami.

at New York 104, Houston 98: Wilson Chandler responded to his removal from the starting lineup with 18 points, and the Knicks beat the Rockets for the first time since 2004. New York had lost eight straight to Houston, which got 20 points from Tracy McGrady but played without center Yao Ming (sore right knee) for the second straight game.

Minnesota 90, at Milwaukee 83: Al Jefferson had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Ryan Gomes scored 22 points, lifting the Timberwolves to their 10th win in 12 games. The Bucks played without Michael Redd for the first time since he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

at Oklahoma City 94, New Jersey 85: Kevin Durant scored nine of his 18 points in the third quarter, when the Thunder outscored the Nets, 31-14, on the way to a victory in front of only 5,000 fans. Icy weather held the Ford Center crowd well below the 18,000-plus who had attended the first 23 home games. Oklahoma City led by as many as 30 in the fourth quarter before New Jersey’s reserves rallied to close the gap.

Portland 113, at Clippers 88: The Clippers managed to keep it close for three quarters, then were outscored, 36-15, in the fourth.
