at New York 8, Oakland 3: Joba Chamberlain pitched into the eighth inning and gave up two hits and Johnny Damon drove in three runs to lead the Yankees to their eighth straight win.

at Boston 3, Baltimore 1: Brad Penny scattered five hits over 6 1/3 innings to help the Red Sox end a season-high five-game losing streak.

Cleveland 9, at Seattle 0: Travis Hafner hit a two-run homer and Ryan Garko had a three-run shot to give the Indians all they needed.

at Angels 6, Minnesota 3: John Lackey won his third straight start.
