Kevin Kouzmanoff leads Padres past Arizona
at San Diego 6, Arizona 3: Kevin Kouzmanoff tied his career-high with four runs batted in and Jake Peavy bounced back from the shortest start of his career as the Padres salvaged a split of the four-game series. Kouzmanoff hit a two-run single in a four-run fifth inning and a two-run double in the seventh.
at Atlanta 7, Pittsburgh 6 (15 innings): David Ross’ bases-loaded single in the 15th inning drove in Jeff Francoeur for the win. Jeff Karstens (2-4), Pittsburgh’s eighth pitcher, made his first relief appearance since 2007.
Colorado 5, at St. Louis 2: Jason Marquis took the NL lead with his eighth win and Troy Tulowitzki homered to help the Rockies complete the four-game sweep. The last-place Rockies won their season-high fifth in a row under new Manager Jim Tracy.
