This is news?

Re “For Britney, it’s her father’s prerogative,” and “Mom fears she may not get octuplets,” Feb. 25

Now it’s front-page news in The Times what Britney Spears and her father are up to?

And for added high culture, we are informed in the California section what “Dr. Phil” McGraw thinks about the octuplets.

It’s as if The Times has suddenly decided to become Us Weekly magazine. I find this to be grievously disappointing.
