Cavaliers win eighth in a row

at Cleveland 102, Atlanta 96: Mo Williams scored 24 points, LeBron James had 22 and the Cavaliers rolled to their eighth consecutive victory, ending the Hawks’ seven-game winning streak. All of Atlanta’s wins during the streak came at home, but the Hawks found circumstances much more difficult at Quicken Loans Arena, where the Cavaliers are 32-1. Cleveland (56-13) has the best record in the NBA and is 16-2 since the All-Star break.

at Orlando 110, New York 103: Rashard Lewis scored 27 points, Hedo Turkoglu had 20 and the Magic nearly blew a 15-point lead before holding off the Knicks. Orlando has won nine of its last 11 games, while the Knicks have lost four in a row to hurt their flickering playoff hopes.

Boston 105, at Memphis 87: Glen Davis scored 24 points on eight-for-11 shooting, and the Celtics pulled away in the second half. Kevin Garnett, still playing limited minutes in his second game back from a right knee injury, scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds in 17 minutes.

at Phoenix 128, Washington 96: Jason Richardson scored 17 of his season-high 35 points in the third quarter and the Suns extended their winning streak to a season-high four games. Shaquille O’Neal scored 13 to pass Moses Malone as the No. 5 scorer in NBA history with 27,411 points. He also finished with 10 rebounds.

Indiana 108, at Charlotte 83: Jarrett Jack scored 31 points and was nearly perfect a night after a dispute with teammate T.J. Ford, and the Pacers outscored the Bobcats 33-9 in the third quarter to end a five-game losing streak. Jack made 13 of 14 shots, all four free throws and added six rebounds. Jack and Ford had to be separated by teammates Friday, and Coach Jim O’Brien sent Jack to the locker room. “Something happened between all of us,” O’Brien said before Saturday’s game. “We dealt with it and it’s behind us.”

Portland 96, at Milwaukee 84: Brandon Roy scored 30 points, and Steve Blake had 21, tying his season high with six three-pointers, as the Trail Blazers, playing their fifth road game in seven nights, came alive in the second half. Roy has now scored 20 or more points in 12 consecutive games.

Lakers 117, at Chicago 109: The Lakers’ bench players sparked a run at the start of the fourth quarter in the opener of a seven-game trip.
