“The Three Spinning Fairies”

Lisa Campbell Ernst

Zelda is a lazy girl and refuses to work. Her mom is the royal baker and makes one thousand cakes per week! One day, the queen comes in and orders a last-minute cake. Then her mother lies. She says, “My daughter loves to work so much, I cannot keep her from the spinning wheel.” Then the queen wants Zelda to spin three rooms full of flax in order to marry the prince. Will she ever finish? To find out more, look for the book in your local library. My favorite word in this book is “persnickety.”
