at Cincinnati 6, Milwaukee 5: Micah Owings pitched six innings and had a tiebreaking triple for the Reds.
at St. Louis 5, Pittsburgh 2: Todd Wellemeyer threw seven innings of four-hit ball for the Cardinals. Jason LaRue hit a go-ahead homer in the fifth.
San Francisco 8, at Colorado 3: Bengie Molina homered twice and Matt Cain threw six innings of one-hit ball for the Giants.
at San Diego 4, Arizona 3 (10 innings): David Eckstein singled in the winning run in the 10th inning and the Padres beat the Diamondbacks, who fired manager Doug Melvin after the game.
Chicago 8, at Houston 5: Alfonso Soriano homered twice for the Cubs, who swept a two-game series.
Washington 11, at Dodgers 9: The Nationals, who once trailed, 6-0, scored three runs in the seventh inning and six in the eighth.
