West: BYU beats Utah in overtime

at No. 18 Brigham Young 26, No. 22 Utah 23 (OT): Max Hall threw a 25-yard touchdown pass in overtime to Andrew George to give the Cougars their third victory in four years in the in-state rivalry. Hall found George open for a quick dump-off over the middle and George had nobody between him and the goal line, hugging the ball with both hands as he went for the winning score for the Cougars (10-2, 7-1) in the Mountain West Conference game. Joe Phillips kicked five field goals for Utah (9-3, 6-2), including a 40-yarder with 29 seconds left that forced the overtime.

at Nevada Las Vegas 28, San Diego State 24: Omar Clayton threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Phillip Payne with 1:24 to play to lift the Rebels (5-7, 3-5) over the Aztecs (4-8, 2-6) in a Mountain West game.

Utah State 52, at Idaho 49: Robert Turbin rushed for 124 yards and scored five times as the Aggies (4-8, 3-5) held off the Vandals (7-5, 4-4) in a Western Athletic Conference game.

at San Jose State 13, New Mexico State 10: Tyler Cope’s 19-yard field goal with 34 seconds left lifted the Spartans (2-9, 1-7) over the Aggies (3-9, 1-6) in a WAC game.

at Hawaii 24, Navy 17: Bryant Moniz threw for 366 yards as the Warriors (6-6) defeated the Midshipmen (8-4).
