Oklahoma State supports Bryant

Oklahoma State Coach Mike Gundy said Monday the school is backing the reinstatement of wide receiver Dez Bryant, less than a week after declaring him ineligible for lying to the NCAA.

The school put the All-American on the sidelines on Wednesday for lying to the NCAA about his relationship with former NFL star Deion Sanders. Bryant sat out Saturday as No. 16 Oklahoma State won, 36-31, at Texas A&M.;

Bryant played in Oklahoma State’s first three games this season while compliance officials were investigating his meeting with Sanders and another former NFL player, Omar Stoutmire, that Bryant later lied about to the NCAA.

“We have started the reinstatement process, which means we’re in support of him 100%,” Gundy said. “He made a mistake. He was untruthful and he’s admitted that.”

Michigan Coach Rich Rodriguez says freshman Tate Forcier will start at quarterback against Delaware State if he is cleared to play after having a concussion against Iowa.

New Mexico coach resolves legal claims

New Mexico Coach Mike Locksley has resolved “all legal claims” involving a former football administrative assistant, although details were scarce in a statement issued by the university.

According to a plaintiff’s attorney, Locksley told Sylvia Lopez she was too old to be attractive to recruits, prompting the 25-year university employee to file an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaint against the coach in April.
