Idaho 21, at New Mexico State 6: Nathan Enderle threw two touchdown passes and Princeton McCarty got most of his 96 yards rushing on one play as the Vandals won their Western Athletic Conference and season opener. Former UCLA defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker lost his head coaching debut.

at Fresno State 51, UC Davis 0: Ryan Mathews rushed for 106 yards and Ryan Colburn passed for 161 in his first career start as the Bulldogs routed the Aggies. Fresno State amassed 511 yards of total offense, including 310 on the ground.

at Air Force 72, Nicholls State 0: Jared Tew scored three touchdowns and Tim Jefferson accounted for three more as the Falcons (1-0) rolled to the largest margin of victory in school history. Air Force piled up 576 yards of total offense as it improved to 14-0 against Football Championship Subdivision schools. The 72 points were three shy of the school record set in 1984.

at Wyoming 29, Weber State 22: Darius Terry rushed for two touchdowns as the Cowboys made a winner of Dave Christensen, a former assistant at Missouri, in his first game as coach.

at Nevada Las Vegas 38, Sacramento State 3: Channing Trotter rushed for 102 yards and three one-yard touchdowns to lead the Rebels. Quarterback Omar Clayton completed 13 of 17 passes for 213 yards, and senior receiver Ryan Wolfe, the school’s all-time leader in receptions, caught five passes for 67 yards.

Occidental 17, at Menlo 0: Quarterback Scott Saunders completed 19 of 26 passes for 194 yards and Aaron Stanton returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown to lead the Tigers to the victory.

San Diego 24, at Azusa Pacific 12: Phil Morelli rushed for 82 yards, J.T. Rogan had a short touchdown run and Sebastian Trujillo threw two touchdown passes to lead the Toreros.
