Yankees, Blue Jays fight in Toronto win
Yankees catcher Jorge Posada and Blue Jays reliever Jesse Carlson fought near home plate Tuesday night, leading to a brawl in the eighth inning of Toronto’s 10-4 victory.
Toronto’s Edwin Encarnacion and Aaron Hill were hit by pitches before Carlson threw behind Posada. The benches and bullpens emptied, but order was quickly restored.
After scoring a run, Posada nudged Carlson, who was backing up the plate. Plate umpire Jim Joyce ejected Posada as Carlson shouted curses at the catcher. The two wrestled to the ground as the benches and bullpens emptied again and scuffles broke out.
