at Western Michigan 48, Miami (Ohio) 26: Tim Hiller threw four touchdown passes and Jamail Berry returned a fumble for a score seven seconds into the game to lead the Broncos (1-2, 1-0) over the RedHawks (0-3, 0-1) in a Mid-American Conference game. Western Michigan, which scored the game’s first 35 points, capitalized on five turnovers by Miami to extend its home winning streak to seven games.

at Army 24, Ball State 17: Donovan Travis returned his second interception 18 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter and the Black Knights (2-1) defeated the Cardinals (0-3). Travis picked off Cardinals quarterback Kelly Page with 6:41 left and sprinted into the end zone to break a 17-17 tie.

at Central Michigan 48, Alcorn State 0: Carl Volny rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Chippewas (2-1), who were coming off an upset of Michigan State, over the Braves (0-2). Quarterback Dan LeFevour completed 10 of 12 passes for 92 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.

at Marshall 17, Bowling Green 10: Darius Marshall rushed for 186 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run, to lead the Thundering Herd (2-1) over the Falcons (1-2).

at Central Florida 23, Buffalo 17: Nick Cattoi kicked a 22-yard field goal with 6:02 remaining to break a tie, and the Golden Knights (2-1) edged the Bulls (1-2).

at Memphis 41, Tennessee Martin 14: Tyler Bass threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score, leading the Tigers (1-2) to a blowout win over the Skyhawks (1-2).

at Troy 27, Alabama Birmingham 14: Levi Brown threw for 413 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Trojans (1-2) over the Blazers (1-2). Brown joined Sim Byrd (454 yards, 1968) as the only players in school history to pass for more than 400 yards.

Central Arkansas 28, at Western Kentucky 7: Robbie Park threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bears (1-1) over the Hilltoppers (0-3).
