“Exit Through the Gift Shop”: An article about the documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop” in the Dec. 16 Envelope section said the street artist known as Banksy sometimes wears a simian mask. The artist did have a monkey mask with him in the film but is not seen wearing it. The article also said that Thierry Guetta, who was filming Banksy and the street artist culture, became a successful artist himself and then turned his film footage over to Banksy, who reconstructed it. Guetta gave the footage over to Banksy first and then, as Banksy worked with it, Banksy simultaneously chronicled Guetta’s own rise.

“Birds of America”: A Quick Takes item in the Dec. 8 Calendar section said that a rare edition of John James Audubon’s “Birds of America” had been sold at auction for $10 million, making it the world’s most expensive book. That figure excluded the buyer’s premium, which was added later and brought the price to $11,567,575.

Airport security: An item in the Dec. 13 Travel Briefcase column in Business about security checkpoints said that actress Donna D’Errico complained to KLTA about her treatment by Transportation Security Administration officials at Los Angeles International Airport. D’Errico was interviewed by KTLA-TV.
