A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O’Donnell Celebration: This new special celebrates all kinds of families, including those headed by same-sex parents and single parents, as well as mixed-heritage and adoptive families. It includes animated segments and music from Ziggy Marley, Sweet Honey in the Rock and They Might Be Giants (7 p.m. HBO).

The Simpsons: Homer blows off a date with Marge to buy a lottery ticket and wins a million bucks in this new episode (8 p.m. Fox).

19 Kids and Counting: Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19th child arrives prematurely on the unscripted series’ season premiere (8 p.m. TLC).

Desperate Housewives: Julie Benz guest stars in this new episode as a stripper whom Susan (Teri Hatcher) befriends. Elsewhere on Wisteria Lane, Angie and Gaby (Drea de Matteo, Eva Longoria Parker) challenge each other’s parenting abilities, Tom and Lynette (Doug Savant, Felicity Huffman) clash over their therapist, and Bree (Marcia Cross) fears that Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) may be suicidal (9 p.m. ABC).

Masterpiece Classic: Emma: Emma (Romola Garai) suspects that her old friend, Mr. Knightley (Jonny Lee Miller), may be secretly wooing Jane Fairfax (Laura Pyper), while Emma herself begins to feel drawn to dashing Frank Churchill (Rupert Evans). Michael Gambon also stars in this new adaptation of the Jane Austen novel (9 p.m. KCET).

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards: Festivities at Staples Center honor excellence in the recording industry. Beyoncé, who leads the field this year with 10 nominations, is scheduled to perform, along with the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, Maxwell and Taylor Swift. Nominated for best new artist are the Zac Brown Band, Keri Hilson, MGMT, Silversun Pickups and the Ting Tings (8 p.m. CBS).
