Zayn Malik has sent Perrie Edwards to join One Direction — in Splitsville

Zayn Malik has dumped fiancee Perrie Edwards as he continues with what appears to be a whole-life housecleaning.

The One Direction alum cut off his engagement to the Little Mix member two weeks ago, People reported Tuesday, with his rep later confirming the news to the Associated Press.

Edwards has “been putting on a brave face” while her girl group is doing promotion for its new album, a source told the magazine, “but she’s obviously devastated.”

Sounds like this was not her idea.

The 22-year-olds got engaged almost two years ago, with her ring making its red carpet debut at the London premiere of 1D’s documentary, “One Direction: This Is Us.”

So now Edwards has gone the way of Malik’s boy band and Malik’s long hair. Last week, he signed with RCA as a solo artist.

“I guess I never explained why I left,” he tweeted last Wednesday, “it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !!”

If he ever does explain why he left Edwards, let’s hope he sugarcoats it a little more than that.
