Singer-artist Terry Allen heads to LACMA

Hailing from Lubbock, Texas, country music singer and visual artist Terry Allen has made waves on both art and music fronts for more than four decades. He will discuss his work and a new eponymous monograph with cultural critic Dave Hickey, who contributes essays and offers commentary on Allen’s three largest and best known series: “Juarez,” “Ring” and “Youth in Asia.” The recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant and a Guggenheim fellowship, with 11 albums to his credit, Allen lives and works in Santa Fe, N.M.
