Kanye West postpones three shows after gear is damaged in accident

Is there a higher power watching over Kanye West, or messing with him after he titled his most recent album “Yeezus”?

Despite already rescheduling a few dates on the Yeezus Tour -- including a gig at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Friday -- West just postponed upcoming dates in Vancouver (Thursday), Denver (Sunday) and Minneapolis (Tuesday) after a truck carrying a custom-made video truss and a 60-foot circular LED screen was in an accident on the way to Vancouver on Wednesday.

“This gear is central to the staging of the Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team,” a rep for the rapper said in a statement Thursday. “As a result of this event, it is impossible to put on the show and the Yeezus Tour will be postponed until these essential pieces can be reengineered and refabricated.”

“West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans,” the release said.

West moved Friday’s show in Anaheim to Dec. 13, citing “production logistics,” and after launching the massive show in Seattle earlier this month he first canceled the concert in Vancouver and moved it to Thursday.

Additional details on the affected tour dates are expected to be announced soon.
