‘Hell’s Kitchen’ recap: And then there were five...

Robyn Almodovar shouldn’t be a bit disappointed that she was eliminated this week on “Hell’s Kitchen.”

Instead, she should be thinking, “How did I make it through to the top six on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’?!?!”

Chef Gordon Ramsay said it. She had plenty of heart and passion. But she just didn’t have the maturity and the temperament. At times, she was little more than a big baby with a handkerchief tied around her head.

This week saw one of the best competitions of each season, the “taste it, now make it” challenge, ushered in by famed L.A. chefs Ludo Lefebvre and Quinn Hatfield.

Then competing chefs got down to business, and had to duplicate one of Ramsay’s plates. Dana Cohen and Clemenza Caserta aced it, proving they have the palate to go along with their cooking chops. (Did anyone suspect that Clemenza would make it this far? Me neither.)

But the “meat” of this week’s competition got underway when several finalists from seasons past reentered the kitchen, dead set on redemption. If you needed any proof that chefs walk away from the “Hell’s Kitchen” boot camp knowing a thing or two, this was it. They completed a near-flawless dinner service while going head to head with the remaining Season 10 chefs, all wearing their nearly earned black jackets.

It was just a matter of time before Robyn’s number was up. Gotta think that Clemenza and Barbie Marshall are the next to go, leaving Dana, Christina Wilson and Justin Antiorio to duke it out for last chef standing. Thoughts?
