The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia: This new documentary weaves together narratives of doctors, students, parents and successful professionals to shed new light on the often-misunderstood neurological disorder that hampers the brain’s ability to comprehend the written word. Director-producer James Redford, whose son is dyslexic, explores the topic from a variety of perspectives, including medical experts, children with the disorder and professionals who have fought to overcome it (7 p.m. HBO).

The Girl: Alfred Hitchcock (Toby Jones) obsesses over actress Tippi Hedren (Sienna Miller) while filming the thriller “The Birds,” in this 2012 TV docudrama (9 p.m. HBO).
