Amazon Studios is putting together the pilots that will make up its third “Pilot Season” in which Amazon customers will be invited to view and vote on which pilots should move on to get full-season orders. And the latest addition is a thriller titled “Hysteria” to star Mena Suvari.

The project was created and executive produced by Shaun Cassidy, the former heartthrob turned TV writer behind “American Gothic” and “Invasion.”

Suvari stars as a neurologist summoned to her hometown of Austin, Texas, where members of girls’ dance teams are suffering from a mysterious psycho-physiological illness that may be related to the use of social media. Suvari’s character must also deal with her manipulative brother, who is on death row.

James McDaniel, Josh Stewart, Adan Canto and Laura San Giacomo also star. Former “Grey’s Anatomy” star T.R. Knight will play the troubled death row brother.

Previously announced pilots for the latest round of voting include the half-hour dramatic comedy “The Cosmopolitans” starring Adam Brody and Chloe Sevigny from writer-director Whit Stillman, “Hand of God” starring Ron Perlman as a judge who believes he’s been sent on a vigilante mission from the man upstairs; and the comedy “Really,” created by and starring Jay Chandrasekhar.

The last round of pilot voting resulted in four new drama series, including “The After” from Chris Carter; “Bosch,” based on the novels of Michael Connelly; “Transparent” from writer Jill Soloway; and “Mozart in the Jungle,” about life in a big city orchestra.
