Reitman, who has twice been nominated for Oscars, for directing “Juno” and “Up in the Air,” will direct the first episode. He’s previously directed two episodes of the NBC comedy series “The Office.”

Reitman, Lehmann and Reitman’s producing partner Helen Estabrook will serve as the show’s executive producers.

“Casual” comes on the heels of Hulu’s previous announcement that it was planning an event series based on Stephen King’s novel “11/22/63” with J.J. Abrams as executive producer.
