Jim Rome to return to local radio in KFWB’s all-sports format
Jim Rome, the sharp-tongued sports personality who has hosted a monthly sports series for Showtime since departing his local KLAC-AM Fox Sports radio gig in 2013, is returning to L.A. radio.
Rome, who also has a CBS Sports Radio show, will be one of the main attractions of the new KFWB-AM (980) and its all-sports programming lineup, which is scheduled to launch in September. “The Jim Rome Show” will air live from Orange County on weekdays for three hours starting at 9 a.m.
“I am thrilled to be returning home to Los Angeles on KFWB,” Rome said in a statement. “CBS Sports Radio has provided me with an incredible opportunity to communicate with our nationwide audience via various platforms, but to reunite with our L.A.-based fans is particularly meaningful to me, personally and professionally. I look forward to bringing the jungle back home to Los Angeles.”
Rome has been with CBS Sports Radio since January 2013.
