The Great Christmas Light Fight This unscripted series returns for a third season. 8 p.m. ABC

Scorpion The Federal Reserve is targeted for a cyber-attack that threatens the global economy, and the team goes undercover as college students to find the source. Peri Gilpin and Kevin Weisman continue their guest roles. 9 p.m. CBS

Cake Wars In this new episode, the teams create displays celebrating the 50th anniversary of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” With Lindsay Schulz, granddaughter of “Peanuts” creator Charles M. Schulz. 9 p.m. Food

Major Crimes Flynn (Tony Denison) is relegated to desk duty while he recovers from his injuries, leaving Sharon (Mary McDonnell) and the team to investigate the murder of a diamond thief on the lam. 9 p.m. TNT

NCIS: Los Angeles Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) is the prime suspect in the murder of his former partner in “Internal Affairs.” Pamela Reed reprises her guest role as Deeks’ mother. 10 p.m. CBS

Telenovela Eva Longoria spoofs a whole genre of television — and her own former show “Desperate Housewives” — by returning to series work with this new sitcom, getting a two-episode preview here before its official premiere in January. 10 and 10:30 p.m. NBC

U2: Innocence and Experience Live in Paris Originally slated to premiere in November, this new special features Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton in concert at France’s Bercy Arena. 9 p.m. HBO

America’s Greatest Prison Breaks This new two-hour special features an in-depth account of the June 2015 breakout of convicted killers Richard Matt and David Sweat from Clinton Correctional Prison in upstate New York, as well as a look back at some of the most amazing prison escapes in American history. 9 p.m. History
