Under Armour opens first California retail store

Performance-wear label Under Armour has opened its first West Coast “brand house,” the Baltimore-based company’s name for its retail stores, at the Americana at Brand shopping center in Glendale. The 10,000-square-foot space, which opened its doors on March 2 next to the Free People store, carries the label’s full range of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories as well as a dedicated wearables area to showcase devices that work with its Connected Fitness platform. This store joins a handful of stand-alone factory stores in Southern California and a Las Vegas brand house that bowed earlier this year. Under Armour Brand House, 837 Americana Way, Glendale.

Italian luxury label Battistoni has chosen to make Beverly Hills the home of its first U.S. stand-alone store, which is set to open its doors on Wilshire Boulevard on March 16. The Rome-based tailored clothing label, founded in 1946, has a long history with Hollywood, having dressed Humphrey Bogart and Marlon Brando and, more recently, funnyman Will Ferrell. Previously, Barneys New York was the only place stateside to find its high-end suits, shirts, footwear and leather accessories. Battistoni, 9536 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills.
