‘Les Miserables’ Anne Hathaway in New Year’s Eve sparkles

Share

Over the last couple of months, the fashion world has gotten an eyeful of actress Anne Hathaway -- and we’re not referring to her wardrobe malfunction earlier this month when she was photographed getting out of a car and her gown shifted ever so slightly to reveal that she wasn’t wearing panties.

That faux pas made some news, but more importantly, while striking pose after pose at events to promote the newly released “Les Miserables,” Hathaway has captivated her fans in designs that are edgy, fashion forward and refreshingly different from the red carpet humdrum starlets can fall into while promoting a film.

For the “Les Miserables” London premiere, Hathaway chose a daring white, satin Givenchy couture gown. In Tokyo, she wore a black keyhole slit Antonio Berardi dress, and in New York City, she hit the carpet in an extravagant Tom Ford cape-back design with over-the-knee gladiator heels.

Hathaway strutted her stuff in yet another risky design at the Museum of Moving Images Salute to Hugh Jackman in a spring 2013 Nina Ricci spaghetti strap, blush-colored dress with sequins. The playful, feminine style and sequin sparkles would make this a fun look for ringing in the new year.

For a similar style, try the MM Couture dress from Macys.com for $20.99, or, if you want a great dress for the big night but don’t really want to buy a new one, you can rent this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent metallic rain dress from RentTheRunway.com for $60.

A pair of strappy heels is all you’ll need to dance the night away. Try the Sole Society Kimberlee open-toe heel for $49.95 or the Aldo Illaria shoe in gold or silver for $34.99. And pop your lipstick and other essentials into the silver shimmer box clutch from DorothyPerkins.com for $27.

The spaghetti straps and sparkles will leave you ready for the dance floor and maybe even a magical new year’s kiss.
