Garnier Olia starts nationwide color consultation tour

Garnier Olia plans to start a national tour to demonstrate its Olia home hair color in Los Angeles on April 3.

The company’s goal is to show consumers the product can deliver permanent color and improve smoothness and shine as well as salon products do, so they are sending a mobile salon on the road to stop at Walgreens locations and offer customers by-appointment consultations, shampoo and color. The salon is scheduled to set up in the following Walgreens’ parking lots from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on these dates:

April 3: 5467 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles

April 5: 2321 Hawthorne Blvd., Redondo Beach

April 6: 331 N. Sepulveda Blvd., El Segundo

April 7: 2400 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach

Later the tour plans stops in Phoenix; Tampa, Orlando and Miami, Fla.; Chesterfield, Va.; Frederick, Md., and Chicago, Ill.

Events

Designer Rebecca Minkoff is scheduled to make appearances at a couple of Southern California Nordstrom stores this week. She’ll be introducing her spring collection, inspired by photographer Slim Aarons’ work in the 1960s and 1970s. She is scheduled to be at the Grove, 189 The Grove Dr., Los Angeles, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Designer Cynthia Vincent is set to make an appearance at a trunk show for her Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent line from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Planet Blue, 800 14th St., Santa Monica. Shoes and handbags in the line will be 20% off.

The Americana at Brand is hosting Spring Fest for folks of all ages from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday and again on April 4. There will be live music on the green, as well as DIY craft stations, nail art, video games, robot battles, a photo booth, barbecue and raffles. Admission is free. The shopping center is at 889 Americana Way, Glendale.

Clover Canyon will offer samples at up to 75% off wholesale prices in a sale scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at 834 S. Broadway, third floor, in Los Angeles. Cash and credit cards only.

Toms, known for its sell-one, donate-one model of business and philanthropy, has launched the Haiti Artist Collective with Haiti-based Caribbean Crafts, to commission 30 Haitian artists to create one-of-a-kind pairs of shoes. The shoes sell for $68 and are available on Toms website and at the brand’s flagship store, 1344 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.
