John Galliano, fired as creative director at Christian Dior in 2011 during a scandal over his use of anti-Semitic and other ethnic slurs during a couple of meltdowns, is believed to have lodged some kind of complaint against his former employer with the Conseil des Prud’hommes, a French labor court. Nicole Richie launches her new Nicole fragrance -- her first -- on Wednesday. It features notes of blackberry, orange, golden amber, Moroccan rose, cashmere, sandalwood, sugared patchouli and vanilla absolute, and was inspired in part by her mother. [People Stylewatch]

Who wouldn’t want to be photographed by street fashion photographer Scott Schuman, a.k.a. the Sartorialist? Why, really pretty girls, that’s who, he told Elle in an interview promoting his new book, “Closer,” which is out Wednesday. But that’s OK with him, because they often aren’t all that well dressed, seeing as how they don’t have to use fashion to get attention.
