Michael Voltaggio appearance, Beverly Hills wine and food fest, Deborah Madison at Chino Farm

Michael Voltaggio will make an appearance at the Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center in Studio City Sept. 7 for a book signing and cooking demonstration. The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a cooking demonstration at 1:30 p.m. and a book signing at 3:30 p.m., and will also include cocktails, wine, hors d’oeuvres, raffles, door prizes and more. The 4th Beverly Hills Wine and Food Festival will take place Nov. 16 and 17 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. This year, participating businesses include Mr Chow, Craft, The Blvd Restaurant, 9021Pho, DeLuscious Cookies and Milk, Pacific Dining Car, STK, Bagatelle, Marie Auboine Chocolates and more. Participating wineries include JUSTIN Vineyards and Winery, Hidden Oak Winery, Opolo Vineyards and many more. Tickets are $150 for the grand tasting from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the 16th or the 17th, and $300 for the VIP tasting from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket proceeds will go to benefit local charities. Vegetarian cookbook author Deborah Madison will be at Chino Farm on Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the farm’s Good Earth / Great Chefs series. Madison will be signing her new book, “Vegetable Literacy.” There will also be samples of food based on her recipes from the book as well as beer pairings from a local brewery.
