The fourth annual L.A. Craft Beer Crawl, a collaboration between 213 Nightlife’s Cedd Moses and the Beer Chicks’ Hallie Beaune and Christina Perozzi, returns to downtown Los Angeles this month.

A beer-loving crowd of more than 1,700 people attended last year’s sold-out event, so this year’s crawl has expanded to a two-day festival, featuring more than 100 craft beers at seven bars and restaurants.

Ticketholders can sample unlimited tastings at Golden Gopher, Caña Rum Bar, Seven Grand, Casey’s Irish Pub, Cole’s, Las Perlas and Broadway Bar. Beers selected by the Beer Chicks include those from Allagash, Abita, Avery, Bootlegger’s, Brouwerji West, the Bruery, Brewery Ommegang, Cismontane, Deschutes, Eagle Rock, El Segundo, Firestone, Golden Road, Goose Island, Hangar 24, Kinetic, Ladyface, Monkish, North Coast, Noble Aleworks, Smog City, Speakeasy, Stone, Strand, TAPS, Trumer, Uncommon, Valiant, Weihenstephaner and more.

Because one supposedly can’t live on beer alone, food trucks, along with Cole’s French Dip and Casey’s Irish Pub, will sell between-beer sustenance.

Early-admission ticketholders get to taste specialty beers (FV13 from Allagash Brewing, Bourbon County Coffee Stout from Goose Island Beer and Cherry Blossom Berliner from Strand Brewing), beer floats created by Danielle Crouch of Caña Rum Bar, and micheladas from Raul Yrastorza of Las Perlas. An additional $10 gains access to specialty tasting rooms at the Varnish and Casey’s, with a bitter room, sour room and barrel room.

The L.A. Craft Beer Crawl takes place Aug. 10 and 11 with early admission starting at 1 p.m. and general admission from 3 to 7 p.m. Check in at Casey’s Irish Pub (613 S. Grand Ave.), where participants will receive a map of the crawl route.

General admission is $49 for each day, and early admission tickets are $69 each. Two-day VIP passes are $119 and include early admission all weekend as well as entry into the private seminars. Non-drinking tickets are $10 for guests who want to experience the event without tasting. Purchase tickets online. Part of the proceeds go to Heal the Bay.

The Biltmore Hotel downtown is extending a friends and family rate of $130 a night to Craft Beer Crawl attendees for the three days before the event and three days after the event. Call for reservations at (213) 612-1575 and mention code 1308LABEER / LA Craft Beer Crawl, or go online.
