Flash-mob picnic; Mercato di Vetro prix fixe; Gladstones yoga

Mass picnic in L.A.: After successful events in San Francisco and San Diego, PopUp Dinner comes to L.A. In this self-described “underground dinner meets flash mob meets outdoor picnic,” guests will be required to wear all white and bring their own tableware, food and drink. Tables, chairs, entertainment and optional dinner baskets curated by local chefs will be provided. Dinner menu includes: Toma Point Reyes farmstead cheese; organic red grapes; sesame cracker, prosciutto and parmesan-crusted baguette; watermelon, feta and mint salad with aged balsamic reduction; sesame seared ahi tuna with organic field greens and wasabi vinaigrette; sweet mascarpone, glazed mission figs and Maldon sea salt; and Ghirardelli dark chocolate pot de crème. A portion of the proceeds will go to Slow Food Los Angeles, which contributes to the Young Farmers/School Gardens Fund. Saturday. BYO admission: $28. Admission plus dinner basket: $78. Three-course meal at Mercato di Vetro: Chef Danny Elmaleh has begun offering a three-course menu featuring seasonal favorites. For the next three weeks diners can nosh on appetizers of buffalo mozzarella and aged salumi, farmers market antipasti and an artisan bread basket, and dessert of bombolini or gelato. Entrees are different each Sunday: On Sunday there’s a free-range roast chicken with whipped garlic potato, summer squash and natural jus; Sept. 2 features seared sockeye salmon with soft polenta, haricot verts and brown-butter vinaigrette; and Sept. 9 offers grilled Berkshire pork with cranberry beans, nectarines, truffle honey and mustard jus. $24. Yoga and breakfast at Gladstones: Patrons of the seaside restaurant will be able to enjoy a light, healthy breakfast paired with an hour-long yoga class. On Serenity Sundays, trainer Shelby Ho leads a beginners’ class and afterward Gladstones offers selections of yogurt and granola parfait; California melons with caramelized peaches; poached eggs with avocado and cheddar; and heirloom tomato frittata. Classes start Sunday. Class begins 8 a.m. Breakfast begins 9 a.m. Yoga is donation-based.
