Wine auction: DeVine Intervention for Sandy Relief Efforts

Share

New York restaurateurs are a generous lot: Witness the way the city’s chefs and restaurateurs pulled together to feed 9/11 workers a decade ago. Now, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group and wine director and Master Sommelier John Ragan have organized an online wine auction to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts by the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City.

The New York wine community of sommeliers, restaurateurs, chefs, importers, distributors and winemakers are together donating some 250 lots. The online auction, which will include rare bottles from top producers such as Champagne Krug, Giuseppe Quintarelli, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Peter Michael Winery and many more, opens to the public beginning March 25 through April 7 at www.de-vineintervention.com. Mark your calendar.

Here’s a chance to score some extraordinary wine and help out New York City at the same time. And 100% of the hammer price of each lot sold will be donated directly to the Mayor’s Fund designed to support immediate aid needs as well as long-term relief and restoration.
