Academic decathlon: In the Feb. 14 California section, an article about Granada Hills Charter High School’s victory in the L.A. Unified academic decathlon said that LAUSD schools had won 20 state and 16 national titles in the last 20 years. They have won those titles in the last 30 years.

Flu cases: In the Feb. 13 California section, an article about flu deaths said that there had been 11 flu-associated deaths nationwide and two in California. In fact, there have been 11 flu-associated deaths among children nationwide and two flu-associated deaths among children in California.

Cooling towers: In the Jan. 2 California section, an article about the water wasted by buildings’ old cooling systems said that more than half the water flowing through a Wilshire Boulevard evaporative cooling tower was being discarded. It should have said that in a system of its reported efficiency, more than a gallon would be discarded for every gallon evaporated.
