Oscar history: A Feb. 26 Calendar article on deaf actress Marlee Matlin 30 years after she won the lead actress Oscar for her role in “Children of a Lesser God” incorrectly stated that she was the first disabled actor to win an Academy Award. In 1946, Harold Russell, a World War II veteran who lost his hands in a training accident, won the supporting-actor Oscar and a special award for his role in “The Best Years of Our Lives.”

Deportees: In the Feb. 26 Section A, an article about deportations incorrectly stated that 400,000 Central Americans were detained at the U.S. border in the last fiscal year. In fact, 400,000 was the total for all detainees.
