Soap operas: An article in the Sept. 23 Calendar section about fan devotion to soap operas said that Sony Pictures Television produces three of the surviving daytime dramas. It makes two of them, “Days of Our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless.” Also, the article misspelled the last name of Stacey Matthias, co-chief executive of Insight Research Group, as Matthais.

Simplifying contracts: The David Lazarus column in the Sept. 23 Business section about putting contracts into plain English said that David Hirsch was the former chief executive of the real estate website Homestore. In fact, he was the CEO of SpringStreet.com, which was acquired by Homestore in 1999.

Beach volleyball: An article in the Sept. 23 Sports section about the Hermosa Beach Open said that the National Volleyball League held five events this season. The league held four events. Five were scheduled, but one was canceled because of Hurricane Irene.

“Pearl Jam Twenty”: A review of the film “Pearl Jam Twenty” in the Sept. 23 Calendar section misstated the year that nine fans died at the band’s show at the Roskilde music festival in Denmark. It was 2000, not 1990.
