Synagogue expansion: An article in the June 18 LATExtra section about a dispute over expansion of Chabad of North Hollywood referred to a similar dispute in Hancock Park and said that the city of Los Angeles, after years of litigation, issued a conditional use permit to Congregation Etz Chaim. In fact, the city has turned down two applications for a conditional use permit, and the case is still in the courts.
Jimmy Jones: A brief obituary in the Aug. 10 LATExtra section of R&B; singer Jimmy Jones, who co-wrote the song “Handy Man,” gave his birth year as 1937. He was born in 1930.
Berlin Wall: In the Aug. 14 Section A, a caption with a photo of a memorial for people killed at the Berlin Wall during the Cold War said that it was the 61st anniversary of the wall’s construction. This month marks the 51st anniversary.
Vallejo: In the Aug. 12 California section, a photo caption with an article about how Vallejo, Calif., is faring after emerging from bankruptcy protection said that voters in the city approved a 1% sales tax increase. The increase was one percentage point.
