Agents seize 107 pounds of meth, 9 pounds of cocaine in Fontana
State agents arrested four men involved in a suspected drug trafficking organization in San Bernardino County and seized more than 100 pounds of methamphetamine and nine pounds of cocaine, authorities said Wednesday.
The four reputed members of La Familia Michoacana were involved in an enterprise that distributed drugs across California, according to the state Department of Justice.
Agents with the department and other members of a special task force launched a month-long investigation that led to an undercover officer buying 10 pounds of methamphetamine Tuesday night.
Authorities then served a search warrant at a Fontana home and confiscated 97 additional pounds of meth, 9.5 pounds of cocaine and $27,500 in cash, authorities said.
The estimated street value of the drugs was $5.9 million, department spokeswoman Michelle Gregory said.
She told The Times that the suspects received methamphetamine from Mexico and sold it across the state.
The suspects were identified by the department as Ramiro Gil Guerra 40, of Keyes, Calif.; Jesus A. Cardena-Selem, 35, of Fontana; Juan Gabriel Angulo-Cabrera, 37, of Modesto and Sergio Mercado-Vasquez, 32, who also lives in Modesto.
The men were being held Wednesday in lieu of $1.5-million bail each at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
The investigation was conducted by the state-led Inland Crackdown Allied task force.
